Types of Propane Heaters

Propane heaters provide near-instant warmth to your home or garage or workshop. But, there are many different styles to choose from, such as:

  • Torpedo heaters: Also called forced-air heaters, these utilize an internal fan similar to a jet engine to circulate warm air through your space. The device draws-in air through the rear and uses powerful motors to send the air through a cylinder that blows heat.
  • Kerosene heaters: Otherwise known as a paraffin heater, these are kerosene-fueled, portable devices that provide supplemental heat to your space.
  • Convection heaters: Sometimes called indirect heaters, because they heat air that circulates through the device.

FAQs

Can I use a propane heater indoors?

Propane heaters are only meant to be used in well-ventilated areas or outdoors to prevent the build up of harmful carbon monoxide. For an indoor option, take a look at our ventless heaters.

What are some must-have propane gas heater accessories?

Make sure you always have some back-up nozzles and gasket rope so you can make quick repairs. Ensure the air you’re breathing is as clean as possible by replacing your filters.
