Need to cut steel? Thinking about an oxy acetylene cutting torch to do the job? Consider a plasma cutter. This simple technology uses an electrical arc and compressed air to cut steel, aluminum, and other conductive metals.

The AirForce™ 40i is an economical plasma cutting system for all conductive metals. Inverter-based design and reliable technology pack a lot of performance into a very portable package. The Airforce™ 40i plasma cutting system is excellent for light and heavy industrial users. Automated operations are also well within its range. Unit is compatible with engine-driven welders when powered with a 240 V generator power outlet of 8 kW or more.

Powerful performance in a lightweight package.
With up to 40 amps of power, the Airforce 40i can clean cut 5/8-inch and sever cut 7/8-inch steel. It runs on 120-volt or 240-volt power so it’s excellent for light and heavy industrial users. Weighing less than 22 pounds, it’s easy to transport from one job to another. Setup is easy too; quickly adjust the amperage on the front of the machine with the single knob design

  2. Pilot arc controller - Allows you to cut expanded/perforated metals, as well as painted or coated surfaces, without retriggering the torch.

  5. Power factor correction (PFC) circuitry - Draws up to 30% less amperage for the same cutting range as compared to the competition. PFC expands operators work area via extension cord, while minimizing nuisance circuit breaker trips caused by voltage drops.
  6. LVC™ line voltage compensation - Provides peak performance power under variable input voltage conditions (+/- 15%) for steady and cleaner-ending cuts.
  7.  Internal gas/air filter and regulator - Controls amount of usage and flow or air or gas.
  8. Starts without high frequency- Protects unit by not interfering with or damaging controls or computers.
  9. Diagnostics lights - LED lights for quick troubleshooting of pressure, power and cup situations.
  10. MVP adapters- Allow connection to 120 or 240 V receptacles without tools - choose the adapter cord with the right plug that fits the receptacle, and connect it to the power cord with the L6-30R twist lock.
  11. Postflow cooling circuit - Extends life of consumables and torch by cooling them with postflow air after trigger is released.
  12. Automatic gouging consumable detection- Adjusts gas pressure to optimize performance, eliminating the need for a manual regulator.
  13. Compatible with engine-driven welders - Complete cutting capability when powered by an engine- driven welder/generator with 240V receptacle of 8 kW or more.
